About Hydrema

Since its founding in Aalborg in 1959, Hydrema has grown from humble beginnings to a globally recognised name in the construction equipment industry.

Our journey, started by visionary engineer Kjeld Werner Jensen, began in a small workshop. In that small workshop, Hydrema's legacy was founded with the development of our very first machine - the Phantom. The Phantom was the start of a fantastic Danish industrial adventure.

At Hydrema, we pride ourselves on being a family-owned business that has grown into an international force, synonymous with high-quality, medium-sized construction machinery. Our ethos centres around a deep understanding of hydraulics, combined with a relentless pursuit of innovation. This unique combination has enabled us to produce machines that are not just tools, but partners in our customers' success.

Our roots in Aalborg and Støvring in Denmark have blossomed into a widespread presence across the globe, with strategic subsidiaries in Norway, Sweden, Germany, the UK and more. Our expansion reflects how sought-after our machines are, as well as our ability to think and act internationally. The acquisition of Weimar Werk Baumaschinen in 1996 was a pivotal moment, doubling our workforce and product range and strengthening our position as a key player in the construction machinery industry.

Hydrema is always at the forefront of product innovation. From the revolutionary 800 series, which combined the best of wheel loaders and backhoe loaders, to our pioneering work in the military sector with demining vehicles, our products have consistently set new standards in the industry. Today, as Denmark's only manufacturer of large construction equipment, we are dedicated to offering customised solutions to meet our customers' changing needs.
