Hydrema dump truck part of large airport construction project in Greenland
Chrois Rail sends a custom-built Hydrema 912FS supply vehicle to Greenland
At the end of January 2020, Chrois Rail shipped their custom-built Hydrema 912FS utility vehicle to Greenland, where it will be part of two comprehensive airport building projects in Nuuk and Ilulissat respectively.
The Munck Group handles the two airport buildings that include the construction of runways, building maturation for new terminal buildings, production and laying of asphalt, conversion and connection to access roads, the establishment of electricity, water and sewer lines and construction of parking areas. Etc.
Based on a Hydrema 912FS MultiChassis, Chrois Rail has developed and produced a specially designed utility vehicle for the Munck Group, which will primarily assist other machinery in the projects, expected to be completed in 2023.
The utility vehicle is scheduled to keep the other construction machinery running, by continuously supplying them with fuel, oil and AdBlue in the "field" so that productivity is maintained as long as possible.
The vehicle is equipped with a 5000-litre diesel tank, a 1000 litre AdBlue tank, four oil tanks, starter booster and battery charger with accompanying starter cable as well as a compressor. Furthermore, it is solidly insulated so that it can withstand the harsh Greenlandic climate, where the temperature often falls below 20 minus degrees Celsius.
