Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that is saved on your computer or another device. Cookies can contain text and figures, e.g. dates. Cookies are not applications and do not contain virus or other malicious code. Cookies are designed to store specific information about the users on a website, such that the website will subsequently be able to recognise the user and load the saved information. Such information could include login information, information about previous visits and which areas of the website the user has visited.

A cookie can only be set from the web address it is saved in. Regular cookies that are saved from a website are typically saved from the address that you see in the address bar in the browser. However, a website can also contain fragments and information that are obtained from other addresses than the one shown in the address bar in the browser. It could be, for example, a banner ad or an analysis tool, as well as regular content. In this way, cookies can also be saved from other addresses via the website you are visiting. These are known as third-party cookies.

Some cookies (so-called session cookies) are only saved during a browser session and are deleted when the browser is closed. Other cookies (so-called persistent cookies) are saved for a specific period of time and are not deleted before this period expires.

2. How can I prevent cookies being used on the website?

The majority of browsers automatically accept cookies. You can configure your browser to inform you when you receive a cookie, or you can prevent cookies from being saved on your computer by configuring your browser to block cookies. Some browsers enable you to configure this for certain websites only.

3. How can I delete cookies?

You can delete cookies in your browser settings. Different web browsers may use different methods to handle cookies. You can find help either in the browser settings or on the website of the provider of the browser concerned. You can find a list of links to instructions for the most common browsers below*:

Internet Explorer:
Mozilla Firefox:
Google Chrome:

* NB: The instructions above are direct links to the provider of the web browser – no form of liability can be accepted by us if they are incorrect.

Some browsers have a setting according to which cookies are always deleted following a visit to a website. This function is called InPrivate in Internet Explorer version 8 or later; Incognito in Google Chrome version 10 or later; Private Browsing in Firefox version 3.5 or later; Private Browsing in Safari version 2 or later; and Private Browsing in Opera version 10.5 or later.

You can delete cookies that have already been saved on your computer at any time.

4. Further information and your right to lodge a complaint
