Hydrema 922G 2.55: Narrow Profile, Full Capacity

The 922G 2.55 is a narrow-design version of the 20-ton 922G dumper, built to fit into tight workspaces while retaining full performance. With a width under 2.55 m, it is ideal for confined job sites. It features the same Cummins B6.7 Stage V engine (314 hp/231 kW) and hydrostatic transmission as other 922G models.

Our dump truck body is constructed from Hardox 450 high-strength steel, providing the necessary strength and durability without adding unnecessary weight. With an impressive 70° tipping angle, you can easily and accurately unload materials with this 20 tonne dumper.

RETARDER SYSTEM

TOP-CLASS SAFETY AND BRAKING PERFORMANCE

Experience the upgraded and powerful retarder system in the Hydrema 922G 2.55. This advanced hydraulic system now consists of a total of 5 hydraulic pumps, ensuring that all functions in the 922G series work independently of each other with minimal energy loss.

The powerful retarder system combines an engine brake with a hydraulic retarder and is intuitively operated via a “retarder joystick” located in the right armrest. This advanced system significantly reduces the load on the service brake, especially when travelling downhill, which not only increases safety but also extends the life of the brakes.

As an added safety measure, the 922G series also introduces the new brake indicator system, known as the “brake care system.” This system constantly monitors the brakes and provides the driver with a warning on the instrument display, as well as an audible alarm in the event of brake overheating. So with the Hydrema 922G 2.55, safety and braking performance are top notch.

With Hydrema 922G 2.55 you get easy and safe servicing of your dump truck. We’ve made it easy for you to access the engine and the various filters by simply pressing a button from inside the cab, which opens the bonnet.

The large opening on the hood gives you full and safe access to all service points, making daily maintenance quick and hassle-free.

By performing regular maintenance, you can extend the life of your machine and avoid unnecessary breakdowns. For even more efficient maintenance, we also offer an optional automatic central lubrication system. This system ensures proper lubrication with individually adapted amounts of grease for different lubrication points and optimised lubrication intervals.

THE CABIN

A New Standard in Operator Comfort

The DT22 introduces a completely redesigned cab built around the operator. With 200 mm of additional space behind the C-posts, a new ROPS-approved passenger seat and improved storage throughout, the working environment has been transformed. A 10" touch display replaces the conventional instrument cluster, providing intuitive access to machine data, reverse camera feed, personal settings and advanced diagnostics. New keypads with intelligent symbol backlighting adjust automatically to ambient light, while a push-button start/stop system and electronic parking brake replace the traditional ignition key. The 3-zone automatic air conditioning with 12 air nozzles ensures optimal climate control. A DAB radio with Bluetooth handsfree is now standard equipment.

SAFETY

Intelligent Safety Systems

Safety on the DT22 has been elevated across every system. The new dual-piston brake valve provides redundant braking with an independent emergency brake system in case of failure. Hoist assistance warns the operator of unsafe tipping conditions, while a rear-view camera is integrated directly into the 10" touch display. The semi-automatic differential lock system uses speed sensors in the axles to detect wheel spin below 10 km/h and engages the locks independently, giving the operator maximum traction without manual intervention. Hill Assist, proven on the MX excavator series, is now available on the dump truck for the first time.

TIPPING CYCLE

Fast, Precise and Fully Controlled

The DT22's tipping system is built for speed and precision. The body, constructed from high-tensile Hardox 450 steel, raises in just 7.5 seconds and lowers in 5.5 seconds. Automatic tipping speed adjustment brings engine revs to 2,000 rpm, and the automatic tipping brake engages below 1 km/h for safe, controlled unloading. The auto-raise/lower function combined with the electronic multi-joystick delivers smooth starts and stops throughout the cycle.

The engine in the 922G 2.55, like the rest of the 922 G series, is a powerful Cummins B 6.7 litre 6-cylinder engine with Stage 5 emissions. It is equipped with DOC, DPF and SCR catalyst with AdBlue addition. With 24 valves and common-rail turbodiesel with intercooler and an electronically variable turbocharger, it delivers an impressive maximum power output of 231 kW (314 hp) at 2200 rpm and a maximum torque of 1288 Nm at 1500 rpm.

The transmission in the 922G 2.55 is a ZF ERGOPOWER 6 WG-210 automatic transmission with 6 forward and 3 reverse gears. It has 100% lock-up in all gears and offers both automatic and manual shifting. The dumper's maximum speeds are 50 km/h forward and 31 km/h reverse and it can achieve an impressive maximum tractive effort of 223 kN. This efficient engine-transmission combination gives the 922G 2.55 the power and performance needed to handle different terrains and tasks.

SERVICE

Designed for Easy Maintenance

The DT22 makes daily service faster and simpler. The bonnet opens electrically at the push of a button, providing full access to the Cummins engine and filters. The AdBlue tank has been increased to 36.5 litres and relocated under the rear cover for easier access. All electronics are consolidated on the right side of the cab with service access from the outside. An optional automatic central lubrication system ensures consistent lubrication across all points. The smart sleep mode uses a dedicated 20Ah lithium battery for standby functions, keeping the starter batteries fully charged and enabling over-the-air software updates while parked.

ENGINE

Cummins QSB 6.7 Stage V - Proven Power

The DT22 is powered by a Cummins B6.7 litre 6-cylinder Stage V engine delivering 231 kW (314 hp) at 2,200 rpm and a maximum torque of 1,288 Nm at 1,500 rpm. The 24-valve common rail turbo diesel features an intercooler and electronic variable turbocharger, which also serves as the engine brake. Exhaust treatment consists of DOC, DPF and SCR catalyst with AdBlue — no EGR valve is required. The engine control module has been updated to meet current cyber security requirements.

TRANSMISSION

ZF ERGOCONTROL-II - Intelligent Shifting

The DT22 is equipped with the updated ZF 6WG210 ERGOCONTROL-II automatic transmission with 6 forward and 3 reverse gears. The biggest change is the integrated control module mounted directly on the transmission itself. 100% converter lock-up in all gears ensures maximum efficiency, and the electronically monitored soft-shift system provides optimum gear changes in both automatic and manual modes. The emergency steering pump is now a separate battery-powered electric unit, replacing the previous wheel-driven design. Maximum speed is 50 km/h forward.

AXLES & CHASSIS

Built for Stability and Traction

The DT22's articulated chassis combines a rigid front axle with electronically controlled suspension and automatic levelling with a heavy-duty rear bogie axle featuring a large pendulum angle. The front axle has a 75% limited-slip differential lock with improved oil flow for extended lifetime, while the bogie axle features a reintroduced 50% differential lock — previously removed but now brought back. A longitudinal differential lock in the powershift transmission and double hydraulic stabilisers complete the drivetrain. The oscillation angle of ±12° and articulation angle of ±38° deliver outstanding terrain adaptability and stability.
